"Would" in past tense

In the sentence "My grandparents used to live about 30 kilometers away from us and we used to go there quite often with our mother." Instead of "used to go", can I use "would go" in this case?


By the way, is it true to say we use "would" in simple past to express a past habit/ repeated actions?
