Thanks CJ!

Can you explain me the correct use of would have been in sentences as I have seen this at several places.

Regards

'Would have been' is the Conditional III of the passive voice for the verb 'benefit', but as CJ says, the passive is not the natural form to use with this verb.

If you did use it, your sentence would have to change: I would have been more benefited by this website if I had known about it in/during my childhood.

Thanks Mister!

To understand conditionals is indeed a difficult task. I think I need to practice it more to understand it properly.

My wife would been promoted if he boss weren't a male chauvinist
Now, is it not correct to write "My wife would be promoted if her boss were not a male chauvinist"? And what is the difference anyway please?

Please provide more examples pertaining to would be...I am not native English speaker and that is the reason I am struggling

I made a typing mistake a year ago that no one noticed until now. I've fixed it.

My wife would have been promoted (PAST) if her boss were not a male chauvinist. (PRESENT).— Mixed conditional: she was not promoted and her boss remains a MC.
My wife would be promoted (PRESENT) if her boss were not a male chauvinist. (PRESENT) — Conditional II:

Hi. Please tell me what is the difference. I think both are correct. Thank you in advance.

1. If he were alive, he would have come back.
2. If he had been alive, he would have come back.

For the example mixed conditional sentence below, I think it denotes his never? having been rich and his not being rich now (not sure, though), and I think it is correct.

AnonymousIf he were rich, he would have helped her.
This one is a mixed conditional in form. People often substitute past for past perfect, however, so the speaker's intent may well have been

If he had been rich, he would have helped her.

This happens more frequently with a stative verb in the if-clause.

Hi. Thank you. Are you saying that the sentence I wrote "If he were rich, he would have helped her" is incorrect? I don't think you were saying that, but at the same time I am not completely sure what you were saying about my example sentence. Would you say both of these are correct? Would you say the number 1 sentence is correct if he wasn't rich at the time that he had an opportunity to help he
