Would have or could have

The dance performed by the disabled actors is really a hit, but years ago no one would've imagined they were to achieve such great success.

vs.

The dance performed by the disabled actors is really a hit, but years ago no one would have imagined they were to achieve such great success.


To me, the both sound correct? What is your thought on this?
