Would have come to your place? or gone to your place?

If A is at her home, and B is at his home, and they are talking on the phone:

A: I didn't have work today

B: Really? You should have told me! I would have COME(?)/GONE(?) to your place!

Is COME or GONE correct in this situation? My intuition tells me GONE is correct, but I'm not sure how to explain it. In what situation would you use COME?

I'd probably use 'come', but neither one sounds really wrong to me. You may get a different opinion on this, so don't take my answer as the absolute truth. CJ
