Would have been doing vs would be doing

Can the two tenses be used interchangeably in at least informal cases? For example :

If she had gone home, she would have been living/ would be living her life better.

Would be living is incorrect in your sentence. I don't particularly like the first option either. My suggestion is: If she had gone home, she would have had a better life.

Would be living is incorrect in your sentence. I don't particularly like the first option either. My suggestion is: If she had gone home, she would have had a better life.
