Dear all,
I have seen the following sentence in a book. I feel that its meaning is "I think that all the girls in the class are nice. Among them Rani and Mary would have been my favourites, but something happened. Therefore they are not my favourites now." I would like to get your opinion on this.
1) I think that all the girls in the class are nice, but my favourites would have to be Rani and Mary.
Thank you
