WOULD FOR POLITENESS

Dear everybody

I would like to ask another question related to the usage of "WOULD"

As I know ,"WOULD" is used for conditional sentence for unreal situation (2nd or 3rd conditional sentences)

Ex: What would you do if tomorrow was your day off.

==> This means that tomorrow is not her day off, and this is unreal situation.

*I have learned about other usage of "WOULD" which is used for polite request and question .

Below is example from the source I read:

  • What would the capital of Nigeria be? (more polite than: What is the capital of Nigeria?)

I have another question, I don't know if I can use WOULD for this situation. The situation is that I would like to ask what my friend will do tomorrow. I want my sentences to sound politely and tentatively.

(1) What will you do tomorrow?

(2)What would you do tomorrow? (This sounds more politely and tentatively??)

No. If no condition is expressed or implied, would makes no sense here. The "would of politeness" is probably not used as much as you may think it is.
