Would for advice

Hello,

Is "would" used in the below sentences to give advice? Please, confirm it.

1- I would say that in this town you are in good company.

2- I wouldn't (= I ?advise you not to) ?worry about it, if I were you.

3- If you're ?unsure of ?your ?legal ?rights, I would ?check with a ?lawyer.

4- I wouldn't set off at five o'clock. You'll get ?caught in the ?rush ?hour ?traffic

5- I would ?add more ?salt to that.

6- I would ?wear something more ?formal, if I were you.

7- I wouldn't ?touch that, it's ?hot.

would alone can't be used to give advice. For me, all your sentences are examples of either implied or full conditionals. Besides, explicitly giving advice would sound stronger compared to you would examples.

I sense a bit of advice giving in all but the first sentence. It certainly doesn't mean "I advise you to say that ...". It's more like offering an unsolicited opinion.

The first seems to be just a comment about the town.

I agree with ivanhr that 3, 4, 5 and to 7 are implied conditionals and that 2 and 7 are explicit conditionals, but feel that you are correct in thinking that they are used to give advice. It is not so formal as I advise you to, but it is still advice.
