Would for ability!

Hi,

Is there any chance of using 'would' instead of 'could' for expressing ability or inability? For example, 'I wish I would wake up early.'
'I hope I will/would wake up early.'

Best regards

P.S. I am not sure 'would' could be used after 'hope'.
