What is the difference between:


1. If you could go back in time, what would you do differently?


2. If you could go back in time, what would you have done differently?


Are they both correct? Please explain.

They are both correct.

I prefer 1. Even if you go back in time some day, the going back is still in the future.

That said, 2 is completely understandable as a variant of 1.
