Would be

Hi,1. What would be the bad points?2. What would be the weather like? Why does the question form in the above examples seem to be different from the usual on :3.What would you do?4.What would he make?It is different to me in that the subject in 3 and 4 comes between the main verb and 'would', whereas in 1 and 2 it comes directly after would.Thanks.

These are correct:

1. What would the bad points be? What would be the bad points?
2. What would the weather be like?
3.What would you do?
4.What would he make?

'Be' can take the two positions in #1 only when it is strictly the copula, I think. Other verbs cannot do that.

The weather is like a typhoon.
The weather is a typhoon.

Only the second is what I mean by 'strict'. This is not a grammar term or grammar point; it is just my guess.
