Would anyone be kind enough to help with my letter of interest please

I am applying for a summer course scholarship and wolud really appreciate if anyone could 
give any suggestions or help edit my letter of interest.
here goes:Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to you to be considered for the summer course scholarship of The Hungarian Scholarship Board
My first option is ...
I have completed my graduation in genetics from XXX University. I have consistently maintained excellent record in academics. In addition to my academic activities, I also was selected as a year programme exchange student in Australia. This experience increased my global awareness. Acquiring an appreciation and respect for different cultures is indispensable in this world as countries become more interdependent and globalization brings us closer than ever before. During this time, I discovered that foreign culture and language learning have always been my passion. In addition to my native thai and English as a second language, I believe that being able to speak another language, in the context of globalisation, is essential, especially, as I am currently working in the field of translation, and also planning to further my education abroad .This scholarship would help prepare me for different learning environment and to learn a new language by immersing myself in the daily life of the country and I believe that there is no better language laboratory than the country itself. A further advantage is the opportunity to discover the cultural heritage of Hungary in real life rather than from media enabling me add dimensions to the knowledge I have already learned about Hungary.
Furthermore, this scholarship would allow me to meet people from various nations and cultures, offering me different points of view and contributing to my flexibility and creativity, besides the cultural and language gains. All of which would open a world of opportunities for me.
Hungarian languages and cultures are not as well-known in my homeland, but I find them very interesting and view them as excellent resoures to create new career opportunities and broaden my perspectives. Al though I have no previous training in Hungarian language, I am eager to learn as much as I possibly can if I am given the opportunity to participate in this course.
I am convinced this experience would strongly enrich my future studies and help me in my profession.
