The reason is that you should maintain the same tense in a single sentence.
I can't take in the reason to right 'far-right' here. Why can't it be 'far right' ?
I would agree with the words 'anti-Semitic' here. Because the word 'comments' is a noun and the words 'anti-Semitic' modifies the noun. In order to consider the words 'anti-Semitic' as a single unit or rather word, you would write 'anti-Semitic'. I hope I am correct.
