Would After 'If+verb(present tense)' clause

Are these sentence structures correct?:
1. "If+subject+verb(present tense), subject+would..."
2. "If+subject+verb(present tense), would...?" (a question)
Why isn't "will" there in second clauses? Are there some cases we should use ""would" for? Or is it American to say "would" after 'If+verb(present tense)' clause?
