Would

Generally if there is a snake on the ground, we wouldn't try to to towards it; we would try to go away from it but one of my friend is completely crazy. He always tries to play with it when there is a snake on the ground.

Any corrections needed?

AnonymousIsn't it supposed to be,'generally if there was ......'? 'was' not 'is'?
"is", "was", and "were" are all possible. "is" is consistent with "generally". I suppose "were" is theoretically the most correct, but "is" doesn't sound bad to my ear.
