Dear Teachers,

Could you please check the sentences below for corrections, if any?
It is a beautiful message.
a) It would be really great if this message have been passed on to as many people as possible.
b) It would be really great if this message could have been passed on to as many people as possible.
c) It would be really great if this message had been passed on to as many people as possible.

How it differ in meaning?

"It would be really great" is a wish for the present/future, whereas "have been", "could have been" and "had been" refer to points in the past. Therefore, your text is illogical.

I'm not bothered very much by this tense, but It would have been really great fits the context better.

a) ... have been ... No.
a2) ... has been ... No.
b) ... could have been ... OK. Refers to the potential for passing it along, implying 'actually passed along'.
c) ... had been ... OK. actually

Thank you Teechr and CJ for your replies. Can I rewrite these sentences as shown below;

a) It would be great if this message is passing on to as many people as possible.
b) It would be great if you could pass on this message to as many people as possible.
c) It will be great if you would/can pass on this message to as many people as possible.

In "a" you need to change "passing" to "passed" to make it grammatical.
"b" and "c" are grammatical.
