Hi! everyone.
Could you tell me why does a native speaker use "would" here?
And why didn't he use "does" instead of 'would' in the para below?
I Went in for a monitor and found one that looked promising. Spoke with a sales representative and asked about the return policy and was told 30 days. Took the product home, took out of the box and set it on my desk. Lo and behold it is too small. I take it back on a monday (had over the weekend) and they told me it would be my return less a 15% restocking fee (thats more than taxes right now!). Why would a sales person not tell you about this when asked? Besides that they told me it would have to be a clearance item now because of the condition of the box..........
