What about this sentence:

Would it be okay if I took lessons Tuesdays and Thursdays. And

Would it be okay if I take lessons Tuesdays and Thursdays.

So the correct form is the formal?

I think my main problem is when I speak to someone, I try to be as polite as possible, so I always use the modal form of verbs, will, shall, may, etc...
