Would

Salaam!

In this example: It would be nice of you to finish this task before the manager got (gets) angry.

Is this correct? Would is being followed by 'got' instead of 'gets.'

Top answer

No; use 'gets'. 'Would' is a polite form of 'will' here, not its past form.
