Would

Sir,

I would say it is not correct.

Here, In this sentence the modal verb "would" is used as "in my opinion" or it a suggestion.

Would you open the door?

Could you open the door?

IF both sentences convey same meaning then which one is the most preferable.

Please help me.

Thanks.

Both are requests and are fairly interchangeable. Could implies a 'need' situation. I am carrying a heavy box and ask my colleague 'could you open the door for me'.
