Woul you be more implicit?

Would you be more implicit?

Please don't be so descriptive?

Please don't be so vivid!

Please don't go in such great detail!

Hi,

If I want to ask someone not to describe something private in great detail in public, like making love, could I use all of the above? In not, how would you rewrite them? Thanks.

Please don't be so vivid! Not idiomatic, but possible.

Please don't go in such great detail! Fine.

Also:

Please don't be so graphic!
Please be more discreet!

In a more joking mood:

You really don't need to share quite so much!

CJ-- wouldn't you say, "please don't go into so much detail"?

Also -- although we don't say "would you be more implicit," you could say "please don't be so explicit."

In addition to what has been said by Jim and Khoff I'd like to invest my contribution. Implicit is something which is metaphorical or in someone's mind. So to speak, something that is implicit is intangible.

Thanks, CJ.

I got everything you said except for the last one:

And you kiss your mother with that mouth?

Please shed more light on the above one. Thanks again in advance.

Instead of 'more implicit' you can use 'less explicit', especially with respect to sexual description.

I'd probably say, "Spare me/us the details."

Perhaps it's not quite appropriate, but it did come to mind. It's probably better used when someone is using foul language. You're calling attention to the fact that the mouth that says such b

Right. I misread it. It should be into.
