World History Intro Paragraph

What factors led to early trade networks and the migration of people from 3500 to 500 B.C.E.?

People, ideas, and goods spread near and far across vast lands and water. However, our world hasn’t always been bustling in trade and travel, nor was it as trouble-free as it is now. The process of transporting products and people took millenniums of development to amount to the scale it currently is. In fact, throughout history, there were many factors that manifested themselves to led to early trade networks and migration.

Any input on my introduction paragraph?

When talking of extreme lengths of time, it sounds a little more professional to base the words on the Latin base “millennium” for which the plural is given as “millennia”. However, times are constantly changing our usage. I’m sure someone will do a count and establish what Google tells us to be the usage frequency of each.

Afterthought:
"In both the 3000 and 2000 millenniums BCE, out of the millennia from 3500 to 500 BCE...."
Now that’s a place where one might stretch the rule and use “millenniums” for the first two selected “millennia”.
Don't take this too seriously, however.
