If there is no further context, could you understand what 'worksheets" refer to? Is it "handouts?" Thanks.

But what are the things that "worksheets" could refer to?

I would assume they are handouts, as you said. In a classroom, it would be a sheet with problems to solve. In a business setting, it could be a form that helps produce an answer or action plan, something like that.
