"You still haven't heard from work yet?" OK. We sometimes casually say 'work' when we mean our employer, which seems to be the case here..

"You still haven't heard from your job yet?" Not natural.

"No, but I don't think they're going to dismiss me." fire is more casual and more common than dismiss.
