Bad news for me....

"I have excellent numerate abilities."

I always write this on my resume

I've never seen this word before in my life. I noticed the comparison in the dictionary is to literate, and it means to have an ability with numbers.

So even if you want to continue to use this arcane word, I'd suggest you say that you are extremely numerate, instead of saying you have numerate abilities.

Hi,

My advice is to try be more practical and specific than simply 'I am good with numbers'.

Depending on what is best for the specific job you are applying for, you can say things like this.

eg I can balance a General Ledger.

eg I can calculate load stresses for a bridge.

eg I can balance the office's petty cash.
