Working "round the clock" or "around the clock"?

Greetings all,

As per the title, I'm wondering on which of the following is correct?

1) Working round the clock

OR

2) Working around the clock

Both are used and accepted.

Right or wrong, I've always considered round the British version and around the American version of the same thing.
