worker effectiveness?

Please look at the following question.

"Studies have shown that a positive environment can significantly improve worker [(a)effectiveness/(b)effecting]"

The correct answer is (a)effectiveness. Wow! I couldn't understand why it has to be "(a)effectiveness".
Is there the compounding words of "worker effectiveness"? In my dictionary, there is only a "worker efficiency",not "worker effectiveness".
Could someone confirm whether or not the question above is right.

Thanks in advance.
