Workbook recommendations

Hi Everyone,

I'm happy that I just got a new job in a school teaching General English, rather than EAP. Looks like I'm going to be the English Co-ordinator. As a result, I've been asked to recommend a new curriculum based on what is already out there, such as Headway, Cutting Edge etc.

This is a question for all the English teachers out there. What do you think is the best set of books to use? (e.g lower int, int, upper int, advanced...) I have used these books, but surely there has to be updated newbies that have improved on Headway and Cutting Edge? Up to date themes such as 'A.I, climate change, marriage equality' (and so on) are better than 'globalisation, art, local culture' etc. There's nothing wrong with the last three, but in my experience, these themes are prone to comatisation.

Thanks,

Hi, I guess by workbook you mean "coursebook", which can be accompanied by a workbook/ "exercise book". For A1 to B1 levels I suggest the Touchstone series by Cambridge University Press. For B2 to C1 I suggest the Viewpoint series, again by CUP.
