Work up a sweat

Hi,

"I think that I worked up more sweat during my accounting exam than when I went for a run this morning."

Can 'work up a sweat' be used this way to emphasize how stressed out I was and how it caused me to sweat?

Thank you.

I've never heard it used that way. Working up a sweat means that we are getting good cardiovascular exercise. It is a good thing, not a stressful thing.
