I've done research and disappointingly a majority of information on Saipan ranges from negative to dismal. An island population of only 62,000 people since 2000 alone sounds daunting.

Hi Clive,

Thanks a lot. Here's the rest of the sentences.

Why can't I use majority instead of most of the?

Hi,

Here's what my dictionary says about this. I've simplified the quote slightly.

Some (people) feel that majority should used only with countable nouns, and not with mass nouns. To avoid wordiness and possible criticism, most may be used in such cases.
