Do these sentences sound fine? I'd like to know if you need the word "for" with the word "hour".

1a. I work long hours.
1b. I work for long hours.

2a. I work a lot of hours.
2b. I work for a lot of hours.

3a. I work eight hours.
3b. I work for eight hours.

"I work long hours" . This is a statement that you have a job that require you to work long hours or that your job demands long working hours.
