Work Experience Letter

I am trying to obtain work experience in an audiology clinic to see if it is the right career path for me. I was wondering if this was the correct format, also if I needed to include anything else. Thankyou in advanced for your time.

Dear Sir / Madam

Re: Work Experience

My name is Danielle Pomeroy and I am 21 years old. I am extremely interested in the field of Audiology as a career path, and would love to undertake some work experience in your establishment. I am available to complete this work experience at any time convenient for you.

I am currently studying a bachelor of Psychological Science at the University of South Australia. I have achieved strong academic results and obtained a GPA of 5.43. My most enjoyed subjects have been developmental and clinical psychology. As they both contained my passion for understanding the human brain and the aging process.

I have worked in hospitality for numerous years which has allowed me to develop a strong customer service approach and the ability to remain calm under pressure. I have a pleasant and caring demeanour. My favourite past times include cooking, reading and enjoying time with my family and friends.

I would love the option of experiencing the daily work life of an Audiologist, to determine if it is the right career path for me.

I look forward to hearing from you and can be contacted anytime on (insert mobile number).

Yours Faithfully

Danielle Pomeroy

Hey Danielle, This looks pretty good. I was studying audiology at one point too! Here in the US, you need a doctorates to practice, so I went a very similar route and did speech pathology.

Hey Dave!

I just had some really good experiences with them when i was little. In Australia we have to do an undergraduate degree then complete the masters in Audiology. Ive also come to the realisation that i really do not want to be a psychologist and that I would prefer a more hands on profession. What did you think od Audiology? why did you stop studying it?

I was also thin

Wow you and I sound alike. I, too, wanted to get into psychology. My first undergrad was actually psych until I went back and did another degree in speech path. I decided to do speech path because I feel I can be a little more creative in my therapy sesssions than in Aud. Plus I don't think I'm cut to do a doctorates program in Aud. I can handle some sciences, but probably not that high of e

I wanted to initially be a psychologist but in Australia its extremely competitive and i really don't want to have to go through it all. Also, I found that the studd they teach you at uni, doesnt really give you a great perspective into the field. I still have one year left on my undergrad, then i have to apply for masters of Audiology. I am also scared about the science, but im hoping that i wil

Hey Danielle, no I don't mind the questions at all. It's cool to see someone else in speech/Aud fields. No, right now I'm not a full SLP. Here in the US you need a master's degree to practice and be licensed. Right now, I'm an SLPA. I will work towards my masters next year. I get to do all the cool and fun therapy without all the paperwork or doing the IEPS

Hi Dave,

My name is Anny, I have completed my Bachelor in Psychology in 2010 and I'm thinking of talking a year off to gain some work experience within the speech pathology field and then begin my Master in Speech Pathology in 2012. However, I do not know what jobs I can apply for. What kind of indication can you give me in regards to the employment opportunities I am qualified for to
