Work experience certificate!! I need someone to correct my translation!!

Hello,

I am studying to become a social pedagogical assistent (nursery nurse/pre-school teacher) and some of my time at college I have to spend in so-called "placements" working with children. From January until March I did a practical work experience in a nursery school and from August until October I did a practical work experience in a pre-school. I really need a translation of the work experience certificates that I got because I would like to apply for a position as a nanny in Canada.

I tried to translate the certificates and hope that someone would correct them:

Work experience certificate (pre-school)

Miss Janina R. was doing a practical work experience in our pre-school "AWO Kinderhaus Mühlenteich". The pedagogical staff of the Kinderhaus Mühlenteich cares for 66 children between the ages of 3 years and 6 years and 20 school aged children in an after-shool club. They work with partens and children with 14 different Nationalities. Our pre-school is located in Kiel-Gaarden, which is a so-called "sozialer Brennpunkt" (troble hotspot) so Miss R. gained an insight to the multiviarious problems that such a district comprised.

Miss R. area of responsibilties covered the whole "Elementarbereich" (children between the ages of 3 years and 6 years) that consits in 3 groups per 22 children. The work experience fields of duties included the independently planning and realisation of activities, projekt work, arrangement of the group-time and taking charge of duties during the routine of the day.Miss R. took part of a staff meeting as well as a parent-teacher conference.

Miss R. was very open-mindet and interested in the pedagogical work. She soon became a part of the team. Because she watched the children closely, Miss R. realized that there are some children that have enuication problems so she planned and carried out a communication project. During the projekt time Miss R. was very flexible and was able to react to the children`s needs She was reliable and heedful. She knew independently when her help was needed.

Miss R. tried herself in verious scopes of the pedagogical work out and reflected it with her instructor.

She was very fond, partnershiply (?) And consequent when caring for the children. She was able to realize and meet the children`s needs. Miss R. was able to work under pressure. We rate her pedagogical work as good.

Work experience certificate (nursery school)

Janina R. was doing a work experience in our nursery school. She worked in a group with ten children between the ages of 0 and 3 years.

In caring for the children Janina was always very empathetic and able to meet the children`s needs and interests. She noticed the individuality of each child. She was showing a high degree on emotional intelligence. She is very good in putting herself in someones position, feels boundaries and respects them. Miss R. performed nursering and pedagogical duties independently. She also worked independently in the team.

Mark for this work experience: Excellent

Hello, Are you sure they use the word 'pedagogical assistant' as a job description in Canada? I know that pedagogical means relating to education but it is a very technical word and I can't say I've ever heard it used in 'real life'. It is the sort of word that people use in their PHD disertations!

  • Admittedly, I don't live in Canada, but I think that most of the world just uses the word 'educational' or 'teacher' in these situations.
  • I did a quick search online and pedagogical assistant does seem to be used in eastern Europe, but it isn't really used in the west.
