I should text you later, after you are off work.

I should text you later, after you get off work.

Are both usable?

Not a native speaker here but only the latter sounds ok to me. I'd probably still use "when" instead of "after" there (not that there's anything wrong with "after") I also think that the first sentence would be fine if you just replaced "after" with "when".
