Words to describe characteristic

What are some words to describe someone who really cares about their image, what others think about them, afraid to lose face, etc.. E.g. someone who pretends talking on a phone with friends to make themselves appear not a loner in certain situations, lie about how many presents they received for Christmas when in fact they got none, etc..
