Words needed for/with bed sheets

Hi

Are these natural expressions?

Mess up the bed sheets [by jumping on them, etc]
The children messed up the bed sheets again.

Crumple the bed sheets
The children have again crumpled the bed sheets.

Smooth out the bed sheets?

Are there better expressions?

Thanks,

Tom

Thanks, Clive.

What about the rest of them?

Is Smooth out the only natural expression or are there more common and better expressions in everyday English?
