Words for moving curtains?

How do you describe a situation ... the wind blew on the curtain and the curtain was flying?

Suddenly, a strong gust of wind blew the curtains up. (Is this ok?)

Yes, but I think I'd use either 'out' or no adverb instead of 'up'.

Yes this is okay, but I would suggest saying that the wind made the curtains look like a sea of whatever color the curtains were. I dont know
