Words ending in "r"

I'm from RI and we never pronounce the letter "r" at the end of a word or when followed by a consonant. How can I change my accent to properly speak words such as car, which I would pronounce cah.

hello to pronounce car or some other words, you would say it as if you were growling like a dog. say CA in CAR and at the end of CA, you need to kind of growl like a dog.. except for the g in grrrrr you also need to roll up the edges of your tongue if you dont want to use the growling method, say CA then roll up the edges of your tongue.
