Words ending in -ever

0 hi, 02br
00a strange thing happened to me in one of my lessons in which i was teaching words ending in -ever. 02br
00i wrote the words on the board and with my students we wrote example sentences. 02br
00however,whatever,whoever,whomever,whichever,wherever and (which is strange) whyever. 02br
00i didn`t know that this word does not exist in English.Does it?If not why not? There should be a logical explanation for this if it doesn`t.Because it suits the context both in the case of form and meaning.i really need an explanation in this.and thanx in advance. 0-

0'Why ever' exists; it's just that it is officially spelled as two words (the others can also be spelled as two words). Googling will show you that in use, nevertheless, it is often spelled as a single word, modelled presumably on the other '-ever's. 0-
