Words describing a CHANCE

Hello.
How do you describe a "chance"? I don't know if it is an adjective or what, but it is something that sounds like this:
a "stack" of books.
a "troop" of monkeys.

How do we apply it to describe a 'chance'?
a "handsome amount" of chance? or..?

Please suggest a few words.
Thank you in advance Emotion: smile

We can use different adjectives. For instance: poor chance fair chance last chance etc. Talking about 'of-construction' we can say something like 'a chance of luck' or 'a chance of appearance of new circumstances'.
