Words can't be a singular noun?

In usual I like using "words",not "word" in this forum.

In case that it is 1 word, when indicating the word, I've used "word".
In case that it is more than 2 words like phrases or compounding words, I've used "words",not "word".

Now it is my question.
Can't I treat "words" as a singular noun? In any case, is it a plural noun?

Thank you for your answer in advance.

I don't really understand your question. 'Word' is a singular form and 'words' a plural form. The last word in the previous sentence was 'form'.

I will not ask this kind of question any more. I'm sorr

Ah~Since my expression in English is still poor, you couldn't understand.I'm sorry for that. When I was in the middle school and learned English from a teacher, She taught me like this.

"A word is an alphabet like A,B,C and so on so a word does not have any meaning. So if you, students want to indicate the minimum language unit having a meaning like school, teacher, student and so on, you ha

Son James, the alphabet is made up of letters, not words. Words are made up of letters.

Your words are right. I couldn't recall the word of "letters". Perhaps my memory would have had a fault on it.That's why I wanted to ask it. Anyway, Thank you,Ms.Cynthia

Son JamesSo if you, students want to indicate the minimum language unit having a meaning like school, teacher, student and so on, you have to call it "words",not a "word". So you, students can write "a words"
This is simply not true. In fact, it's rubbish.
