Words and sentence assistance

Hi teachers,

Is the use of the words 'proud' and 'honored' correct in this sentence (or are they synonyms here), and is this sentence meaningful? I would like to use this as a caption for a photo.

I am truly proud and honored to finally receive my doctorate in Radiology.

I am also open to other suggestions!
