Wording - with or without the preposition

All promotions now begin on the first day of the month in which they are scheduled to run and end on the last day of that same month.

Do we need the preposition in?

Thanks

Hi A,

Do we not just use 'on' as it is a part of the antecedent of 'which'? 'on the first day of the month' = which

They are scheduled to run 'which'(pronoun)/(antecedent) on the first day of the month.

I'm not disagreeing; I just want to hear the logic.

Thanks

They are scheduled to run in a certain month, starting on the first day of that month and ending on the last day of that month. The antecedent of "which" is "month".

The first day can be referred to as "the first day of [the month in which they are scheduled to run]".
The last day can be referred to as "the last day of [the month in which they are scheduled to run]".
