Wording helps please?

Hi,

Could you please check for me if I am correct in these sentences?

I think both of them are not wrong, however "unexpected" sounds better and common?

"Unsuspected" means "unknown"?

This is an [ unexpected / unsuspected ] illness. (Said a doctor)

I met an [ unexpected / unsuspected ] difficulty.

I faced an [ unexpected / unsuspected ] problem.
