Could you please check for me if I have used these words correctly?
"Retain" is more like (still/keep)
This room [ retains / keeps ] it's temperature all year around. (Both words are correct, different regester)
I have [ retained / kept ] this bike from I was in highchool. (Same as above)
This country has [ retained / kept ] its independence since 1940. (Same as above)
"Remain" is more like (left)
Onle the best [ remained / left ] in here, I threw away the rest. (Both words are correct, different regester)
This issue is [ remaining / left ] to be solved. (Same as above)
How many problems [ remained / left ] to be solved?. (Same as above)
This abandoned car [ remained / left ] many of its useful parts. (Same as above)
Are they any remaining cake left? I would like to have the [ remaining cake / remainder ].
