Wording

Hi! I was wondering what the difference is between "How about" and "what about". I mean for example, I got into a fight with someone and I told them that I didn't care about anything. That person said that I've got reputation to protect. Which one does he have to use?? "How about a reputation to protect?" or "What about a reputation to protect?"

Thanks.xx

What / how about your reputation?

Either what or how is possible.
