Word use

Is 'of' correct in this sentence? I am not sure why it sounds awkward!

The best way to cleanse the body 'of' toxins is by not consuming them.

Thanks.

Thanks a lot. Does ‘of’ imply the toxins in the body?

Also, is this sentence correct?: The best way to cleanse (out) the toxins in the body is by not consuming them.

If yes, is ‘out’ optional?

Also, what about the use of ‘of’ in the first example? Is “the body of toxins” a set phrase meaning ‘the amount/group of toxins’ or what?
