Word Usage

I came across the phrase "swathed heat in the summer" during some peer editing. Is the word "swathed" used correctly? Can heat be swathed?

Could you post the whole sentence? On the face of it, it doesn't look right to me. I wonder whether it should read "swathed in heat".
