Go with "if it were me..."

But don't worry about these kind of grammar questions - no one cares if you make a mistake with something like this. Your time is much better spent learning new words and phrases.

If it were me is perfectly fine.

Technically:

If it were I making the decision.... (subject of make)

If it were me you criticized.... (object of criticized)

Most Americans use me in both situations. Those who insist on making the distinction (myself included, sometimes) often end up sounding like snobs.
