Vocabulary

Word spot.

Hey guys,

I just wanna ask you if someone could clarify me the right meaning of the word SPOT in the next monolog. It's the fragment of the monolog from my favourite TV show, where mother of the killed victim is proudly describing the career of her killed son in the limo company. She said that her son was a celebrity VIP driver, that the celebs liked her son....then she said this, where I'm totally confused about, what the word spot means..:-(

(So, that mother said about her son proudly)

- He could take his clients to a Motel 6 (clear)
and it'd be the hottest spot in town. (spot is meaned here as an celebrity person???)

- it Wasn't long before the club (clear)
owners invested in Jason, (clear)

- made him a group partner, gave him his own spot. (Here I'm confused as well...Is spot here meaned as his own cut???)

- Then two, then five.

Thank you in advance. I checked the video twice to be sure, that there aren't any typos in the trascript, which I provided. Google didn't provide me any conclusion, so I'm asking here.

thanks and nice weekend to all.

with regards

Hi, #1 spot = place, location #2 I'm not totally sure from your text, but probably 'spot' = 'place' in the sense of a job, ie a place/position in the company. Clive

Hi,

He could take his clients to a Motel 6 and it'd be the hottest spot in town.

Could this sentence be reinterpreted as :"He could take his clients(with his limo) to a Motel 6 as well as to the hottest spot in town?? No. 'It' here refers to 'a Motel 6'.

I checked google
